
MALACCA - Sunday, November 8, 2009. MTB athletes cross-country supported Polygon which also representing Indonesia in the Asian MTB Championships in Malacca, Malaysia, able to provide encouraging performance. All three Polygon athletes are Dadi Nurcahyadi, Chandra Rafsanjani, and Kusmawati Yazid. Under Indonesian MTB team, they competed against teams of other countries that had well-known in Asian level.
Dadi Nurcahyadi and Chandra Rafsanzani, both down on cross-country Elite Men group who attended more than 40 riders. Start from grade to 3, Dadi finally successfully finish at 4th position. He successfully completed about 38.5 km race distance, split in 3 minutes 38 seconds behind the winner, Kohei Yamamoto of Japan. The second and third positions respectively taken by Hong Kong and Kazaksthan riders. While in the 7th position there is Chandra Rafsanjani who finished with 6 minutes gap from the winner.
On Women Elite sector, Kusmawati also still have to admit China and Japan riders. After fight on 33 km (6 laps), Kusma successfully reached the finish on 5th position of 16 riders.
Although unable to stand on the podium, Indonesian athletes achievement who competed in these cross-country race are pretty good enough on South East Asia level. Especially as a preparation for reach their real target of peak performance at the Sea Games which will take place in December
