The result of 2009 Jelajah Malaysia race for Polygon Sweet Nice (PSN) team of course like the one has not been expected. However, in competition which is performed 19-26 April 2009, there are notes of achievement which able to be prided upon for this team that supported by Polygon. First, Polygon Sweet Nice rider, Hari Fitrianto successfully improve his rank to be the best seven place at final individual general classification. In final stage that contesting criterium along 70.4 km in Kuala Lumpur, Hari Fitrianto booked total time 29 hours 34 minutes, apparently just around 2 minute 32 seconds from the winner, Timothy Roe (Savings & Loans Cycling Team Australia).
Other achievement also added by PSN new rider, Sergey Kudentsov, as happened at stage 4th along 177.5 km distance from Pasir Mas towards Kuala Terengganu, Wednesday (22/4). The Russian made his successful debut with finish third on 4 hour 09 minutes 21 seconds. Sergey Kudentsov returns to his similar achievement when finalizing fifth stage on next day from Kuala Terengganu towards Kuantan. This 204.8 km stage is battened by Sergey with 4 hour 49 minutes 40 seconds, and grab double third winner.
Meanwhile, Polygon Sweet Nice Team Director, Harijanto Tjondrokusumo, feel satisfying enough with the result of his riders. 'Of course many notes which must be evaluated during following 2009 Jelajah Malaysia. We wish to improve at Tour of Singkarak (30 April - 3 May), especially from cooperation side between riders at finish section which has not maximum until now,' Harijanto said.
This is caused by lack of communications between new rider and old squad. New riders motorized by Sergey Kudentsov and Roman Krasinilkov is still facing language obstacle. This thing making contention in finish line frequently fails. Maximum result only accompanies Sergey to grab third position in stage 4 and 5.
On the final day of 2009 Jelajah Malaysia, yellows jersey officially belongs to Timothy Roe from Saving and Loans Team with his total time 29 hours 31 minutes 28 seconds. Roe pre-eminent 2 minute 32 seconds from Hari Fitrianto, which is sit in 7th position. While in team classification, Polygon Sweet Nice has to satisfy placing in rank 13rd with total time 89 hours 52 minutes 19 seconds.
Soon after following Jelajah Malaysia, Polygon Sweet Nice will preparing to compete in Tour of Singkarak with remains of composition squad. Five riders are included Hari Fitrianto, Herwin Jaya, Jimmy Pranata, Sergey Kudentsov, and Roman Krasilnikov. On other hand, PSN also has planned to add Antonius Christopher to join this squad.
"We had specified six rider for Tour Singkarak. The rider ought to be sixth is Artem (Timofeev Artemiy). But condition of this Russian hasn’t ready yet," express Harijanto Tjondrokusumo. Artem now enters final phase of military duty in his country. This makes management to enter name of Christopher in starting list.
But Polygon Sweet Nice management also be able to be changes this squad composition. Harijanto said if Tour Singkarak held in very close race schedule with Jelajah Malaysia, so recovery period too minimum for their rider. ‘Though the overall distance is not too long, but we ascertain have not a maximum recovery period. So we would see, compete with six rider or just five. The important thing is to obtain better result," he added.
